Ajman Tourism Development Department Celebrates the International Workers' Day by Honouring its Labourers
In observance of the International Workers' Day, Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD), in collaboration with Ajman Department of Finance, Ajman Department of Land and Property, Ajman Chamber of Commerce, Ajman Medical Zone and Ajman Municipality & Planning Department, organised a special ceremony to honour their workers in recognition of their outstanding efforts to serve the prosperity of the Emirate and the Nation. The ceremony, which was held at Ajman Museum, was attended by over 500 workers.
The celebration was part of the endeavours of local departments in Ajman to promote the rights of workers in accordance with the laws, regulations and the constitution applicable in the UAE, as well as all the relevant international human rights instruments, with the aim to support the development process and leverage the efforts of working forces to achieve welfare and prosperity.
The ceremony included a variety of activities for workers of Tourism Development Department and government departments. The Department of Finance, the Department of Land and Property and the Ajman Chamber participated in providing symbolic gifts and honouring workers, in addition Themar Al Bahar Restaurant sponsored meals to all attendees. Free medical examinations for all workers was sponsored by the Ajman Medical Zone through Al Madar Medical Centre and Al Madina Pharmacy.
The ceremony reflects the leadership's dedication to recognise the working classes and strengthen their roles in community.
HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General of Ajman Tourism Development Department, said: "This celebration, which comes in line with the nationwide celebration of the International Workers' Day, reflects the greater attention to human rights, in general, and to workers' rights, in particular. It is part of our commitment to support workers and communicate with them, in order to achieve the vision of our prudent leadership in increasing the contribution of labours to our future goals".
HE added: "By organising this celebration, we follow in the footsteps of the founding fathers, who instilled the spirit of giving in us, and taught us to recognise the working classes for the outstanding efforts they have made in serving the nation. The department is committed to recognise the individuals who contribute to achieving its strategic goals in supporting and developing the tourism industry and attracting tourists".
Yamina Aoucher, Director of Tourism Development and Marketing Department, said: "The activities in celebration of the International Workers' Day included a number of motivating events, such as honouring the working team and presenting special gifts to them in recognition of their efforts and dedication. The ATDD is keen to improve the internal communication strategy and bring happiness to the working team. The activities included exciting contests and talent competitions".
