Ajman, UAE (May 25, 2016) – The Emirate of Ajman's new destination identity won Best Place or Nation Brand awards from Transform MENA, the only awards programme awarding the best brand work in the Middle East and North Africa.
The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) along with MBLM, the brand agency that collaborated with ATDD in creating the new destination brand strategy, identity and marketing plan, was awarded bronze in Best Place or Nation Brand category along with Kenya Ministry of Tourism and G Creative winning the gold award and the Moroccan National Tourism Office and Spring receiving the silver award.
ATDD and MLBC were also honoured with the Highly Commended award in Best Use of Typography category.
On winning the award, His Highness Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Tourism Development Department commented: "It is with great pride and honour to receive these awards from Transform MENA. This is a major achievement for the Ajman Tourism Development Department because it recognised our successful effort in positioning Ajman as a destination for business and leisure travelers. The new Ajman identity and slogan of "Sincerely Emirati" reflect our strategic vision which is in line with the UAE's overall vision to increase the tourism sector's contribution to the nation's GDP and overall visitor numbers. We are pleased to have collaborated with MBLM on this remarkable project."
The Transform MENA awards recognize best practice in corporate, product and global brand development work, with categories that focus on strategy, execution, content and evaluation. It is a platform for organizations to tell their stories and to discuss reputational change.
The programme provides an important platform from which to benchmark and showcase the fantastic work being done in the region. The entries were judged on four aspects; challenge, strategy, creativity/innovation, results. The awards recognise the creativity and strategic thought exercised and provide the opportunity to celebrate with clients and colleagues at the most prestigious awards event for brand communications.
